Entry for exhibition ‘The Culture of Seduction’.

Fake “beauty” as a weapon of seduction and a discourse of “truth or dare”. Somewhat between stale stereotypes of sexual language, the female body is confronted as an object of desire and a symbol in the culture of seduction and the seduction of culture. In a post-human culture, looks, are often mistaken for “truths” and are used to seduce with deliberate and lucrative performances of what is commercially promoted as sexual. What is fake is easily unveiled and seduction therefore fails where it is most successful.

Exhibition organised and curated by the Semiotics and Visual Communication Lab.
